چکیده
We put forth a Fierzed hopping expansion for strong coupling Wilson fermions. As an application, we show that the strong coupling Schwinger model on parallelogram lattices with nonbacktracking Wilson fermions span, as a function of the lattice skewness angle, the ∆ = −1 critical line of 6-vertex models. This Fierzed formulation also applies to backtracking Wilson fermions, which as we describe apparently correspond to richer systems. However, we have not been able to identify them with exactly solved models.

Some approximate analytical methods in the study of the self-avoiding loop model with variable bending rigidity and the critical behaviour of the strong coupling lattice Schwinger model with Wilson fermions
Some time ago Salmhofer demonstrated the equivalence of the strong coupling lattice Schwinger model withWilson fermions to a certain 8-vertex model which can be understood as a self-avoiding loop model on the square lattice with bending rigidity η = 1/2 and monomer weight z = (2κ)−2. The present paper applies two approximate analytical methods to the investigation of critical properties of the ...

We revisit the strong coupling limit of the Schwinger model on a lattice using staggered fermions and the hamiltonian approach to lattice gauge theories. Although staggered fermions have no continuous chiral symmetry, they posses a discrete axial invariance which forbids fermion mass and which must be broken in order for the lattice Schwinger model to exhibit the features of the spectrum of the...
متن کاملOn the Correspondence Between the Strongly Coupled 2-Flavor Lattice Schwinger Model and the Heisenberg Antiferromagnetic Chain
We study the strong coupling limit of the 2-flavor massless Schwinger model on a lattice using staggered fermions and the Hamiltonian approach to lattice gauge theories. Using the correspondence between the low-lying states of the 2-flavor strongly coupled lattice Schwinger model and the antiferromagnetic Heisenberg chain established in a previous paper, we explicitly compute the mass spectrum ...
متن کاملExpansions for the Massive Schwinger Model in Hamiltonian lattice theory
It is shown that detailed and accurate information about the mass spectrum of the massive Schwinger model can be obtained using the technique of strong-coupling series expansions. Extended strong-coupling series for the energy eigenvalues are calculated, and extrapolated to the continuum limit by means of integrated differential approximants, which are matched onto a weak-coupling expansion. Th...
متن کاملThe exact equivalence of the two-flavour strong coupling lattice Schwinger model with Wilson fermions to a vertex model
In this paper a method previously employed by Salmhofer to establish an exact equivalence of the one-flavour strong coupling lattice Schwinger model with Wilson fermions to some 8-vertex model is applied to the case with two flavours. As this method is fairly general and can be applied to strong coupling QED and purely fermionic models with any (sufficiently small) number of Wilson fermions in ...
